A New Approach for Employee Healthcare Referrals

There is enormous price and quality variation in healthcare – from everything from an MRI to a thoracic surgeon — and, unlike other industries, price has zero correlation with quality. While this dynamic has been well understood for decades, the large price swings continue to plague employers. Why is that? Referral decisions are often influenced by providers incentivized to refer within their own network and patients don’t have the time or know-how to shop around to find the highest quality specialist or healthcare service at the best price. To respond, employers are investing in independent, value-driven primary care clinics to act as a central quarterback for referral management. In this webinar, we’ll discuss how Marathon Health’s new partnership with Garner Health — a data-driven, provider search tool — along with our referral coordinators are helping employees and employers take control of healthcare costs.
Discussion Topics
  • Guiding patient choice through advanced data on healthcare cost and quality
  • Personalized referral specialist outreach to decrease care gaps and improve health
  • Real-life examples on how referral specialists help patients get quality, affordable care
  • Proven results from a high-touch employee referral management service
